James Hodgson (mathematician)
James Hodgson (1672–1755) was an English mathematical teacher, lecturer and writer.
==Life==
In 1703 he was elected Fellow, and in 1733 one of the council, of the Royal Society. For many years before his death he was master of the Royal School of Mathematics at Christ's Hospital. Hodgson was a friend of John Flamsteed, married his niece, and took part in the controversies in which Flamsteed was engaged.
Hodgson died on 25 June 1755, leaving a widow and several children.〔
